Emily Smith was raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she currently resides. In 2015, she received her BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute with a double-major in Photography and Art History. Emily has experience in a variety of photographic media and has worked for clients such as the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and the Kauffman Center for Performing Arts in Kansas City, Missouri and the Delaware Art Museum in Wilmington, Delaware. She is well versed in digital photographic techniques, but prefers working with film in her personal work.

 

Emily suffers from an acute case of wanderlust, and has photographed her way across much of the United States, as well as her travels abroad. Emily fell in love with art history while at KCAI and received her MA in the History of Art from the University of Kansas in 2017. In 2018, Emily spent 3 months in Honolulu, Hawai’i, as an intern at the Shangri La Museum of Islamic Art, Culture & Design. She currently works as the Digitization & Rights Coordinator at the Library Company of Philadelphia.
